Center for Disease Control and Prevention
Mission Statement
Our mission is to build community awareness about living a heart-healthy lifestyle through public health awareness forums, accessible information, and resources. Supporting individuals diagnosed with cardiovascular disease as well as providing support to family members and loved ones that are affected by cardiovascular disease. We offer support to health professionals in their work to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage heart disease.
Our Founder
Shakina “Kina” Lucombe is a registered nurse (RN, MSN) with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field. She is also a mother of four and a survivor of cardiovascular disease. Having a medical background and living a health lifestyle, made all of the difference in Kina’s survival and recovery. This inspired her to build a platform to support others on their journey and raise community awareness about the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
